Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is the biggest and busiest airport in the Netherlands located near Amsterdam, the capital of the country. There are two more international airports, one near Rotterdam, also called Rotterdam/Hague airport and the other located in Utrecht. However, these two are quite small, thus your best option is Schiphol.
Schiphol airport proudly boasts to have handled over 71 million passengers in a single pre Covid year and this means it is the third busiest airport in Europe after Heathrow and Charles de Gaulle.

Netherlands has one of the best public transport systems in the world. The trains are efficient, fast and always on time. When it comes to Schiphol, the trains will transport you straight to the underground station right below the departure lounge. It’s very convenient and simple.
With that said, if you are traveling with a family/kids and large suitcases, it would be better to use the taxi service. While trains, buses and trams may be more cost effective most of the time, taxis will save a lot of hassle.
When traveling alone with one bag, trains are your best choice. They are cheap, reliable and comfortable.
